My name is Julia Pieroni, and I am the creator and editor of this website. I am 23 years old and currently amid my second year of studying for a Bachelor of Communication and Journalism. I was inspired to create this website due to my deep passion for feminism and my desire to engage in conversations and discourse that contribute to advancing public perception of feminism and gender equality.

I once had an admittedly poor perception of feminism, simply because I was misinformed and uneducated about its true meaning. I believe this was largely due to its poor representation in the media, as, like many others in the early 2000s, I mistakenly believed that feminism was a term associated with man-haters. However, as I entered adolescence and quickly encountered the many disadvantages and challenges accompanied by womanhood, I realized just how incorrect and uneducated my assumptions were. I rediscovered the true meaning of feminism and have since become passionate about promoting conversations aimed at deconstructing the patriarchy, addressing misogyny, and promoting gender equality.

The content of this website will specifically explore the media’s failures to represent women justly, the misogynistic coverage women have received over the years, and the mass media’s role in perpetuating harmful stereotypes and stigma.
